Get the most out of your hogget meat box!
Thank you for buying your meat from us! To make sure you get the most from your purchase, we have prepared some information and recipes. Please do get in touch with any questions.
Preparation and cooking
Hogget has rich flavours and the meat is well marbled. To bring out the flavour, marinade for around an hour before cooking (or longer if you prefer). Oliver oil, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce or red wine all make great marinades! Tenderising the meat by rubbing in salt and pepper before cooking also helps to prepare it for cooking.
Hogget should be cooked more slowly than lamb. We advise to use a slightly lower temperature for slightly longer to allow the meat to become tender and juicy. We have had great results pan frying, roasting in the oven or slow cooking.
